September - 2012 Honda Health and Wellness Fair
Springfield Gastroenterology and Gastro Care are proud to have participated in the 2012 Honda Health and Wellness Fair at Kings Island on September 8th. The event, sponsored by Honda, is used to help increase health and safety knowledge among Honda employees across the Midwest region. Our goal at this event was to help raise GI health awareness and spread information regarding screening colonoscopies. The Colon Cancer Alliance reports that each year, more than 50,000 people die from colorectal cancer. Early detection by way of a screening colonoscopy can help catch this disease before it spreads. It is recommended that at the age of 50 years old an individual receives a screening colonoscopy. Please help us raise awareness by letting those around you know about screening colonoscopies. Together we can help silence this deadly disease!

The 2012 American Cancer Society Relay for Life was a tremendous success. Springfield Gastroenterology and Gastro Care were once again privileged to be a part of the event. In an effort to build awareness, our teams came together to raise money on behalf of the American Cancer Society. Thank you Team Gastro and all our patients who participated!!! The Relay for Life event might be over, but our attempt to raise awareness must never end. Our battle against Colorectal Cancer must continue. Please let your friends, family and those around you know about the devastating effects colorectal cancer can cause. We can fight back against this cancer and Awareness is our number one weapon. Let everyone you around you know - Colonoscopies help save lives!
The best way to prevent colon cancer is to have a colonoscopy screening around age 50. We want to make this potentially life-saving procedure easily available for everyone. Unlike most surgery centers, we do not require a physician referral or gastroenterologist consultation. Just give us a call, answer some health history questions, and after a review by the medical director a procedure will be scheduled!
